AGREEMENT TARGETS REDUCING DRIVER INJURIES
GRAND HAVEN, Michigan, August 26, 2005 - National Seating, a division of Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: CVGI) and Atlas Ergonomics, LLC (Grand Haven, MI), announced a relationship today to combat driver injuries within the transportation industry. National Seating will promote Atlas' innovative and proven technology to North American fleets, while Atlas will assist with National's product development efforts.
"The Atlas technology is an innovative approach to solve a problem the industry has struggled with forever," said Ray Miller, National Seating Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "Our goal is to help our customers avoid the costs associated with driver pain and discomfort. Discomfort is not only a strong indicator of a pending injury, but has been shown to significantly impact driver fatigue and job satisfaction. Each issue is important to our customers and the industry on whole."
"Atlas has extensive ergonomic experience with the seated worker," said Logan Mullinix, CVG Vice President of Product Development. "In addition, they have the largest known database on the location of driver discomfort and its contributing factors. By combining our product design leadership with Atlas' ergonomic knowledge, we can improve our efforts to develop products that reduce risk and improve driver comfort."
"We have seen outstanding results through the use of National's products." Jim Landsman, Atlas President went on to say, "National is the clear leader in the heavy truck seating, and by working together we can reach more drivers and provide clients better answers to issues they struggle with on a daily basis. Our goal is to provide the industry bottom line results."
National and Atlas will begin joint introduction of Atlas' technology later this summer. Joint product development efforts are already underway.
