AMERICAN TRUCKING ASSOCIATION SEEKS "ERGONOMICS AT THE CROSSROADS"
GRAND HAVEN, Michigan, September 26, 2005 - Safety and loss prevention managers from fleets across the nation will converge on Miami, Florida in October to seek answers to the safety issues they face. A significant concern for nearly all fleets is preventing the injury of their most valued resource, skilled drivers. Finding ways to avoid an injury not only affects the profitability of an organization, but helps define a company's attitude towards its employees.
Drew Bossen, Executive Vice President of Atlas Ergonomics, has been asked to present on driver ergonomic risk and potential solutions. The presentation will review data obtained through a pilot program conducted with an industry leader. The goals of the pilot program were to decrease driver pain and discomfort with the current cab design, and study the effect on fatigue and job satisfaction.
The American Trucking Association's Safety and Loss Prevention Management Council is hosting the event from October 3rd through the 7th at the Miami Hyatt Regency. Bossen's presentation will occur on October 7. Conference attendees are also invited to visit with Bossen at the Atlas Ergonomics booth during exhibition hours.
